CMA Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with a highly respected, values-led organisation in the not-for-profit sector to recruit an experienced HR Project Manager for a 9-month fixed-term contract. Based in Poole, Dorset, with hybrid working available, this role plays a critical part in shaping the future safeguarding and volunteering policy framework. The organisation is undergoing a programme of strategic change, and the HR Project Manager will lead this key project from end to end to ensure long-lasting impact and compliance across the group.
What will the HR Project Manager role involve?
End-to-end delivery of a complex, business-critical project focused on safeguarding and volunteering policy and framework development.
Work closely with senior HR and operational stakeholders to scope, define, and implement project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
Coordinate cross-functional workstreams, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and delivery to plan.
Establish and monitor budgets with support from the Finance Business Partner.
Own the project governance and maintain key artefacts including RAIDD logs, plans, reports, and visual management tools.
Develop a benefits realisation plan to track outcomes and ensure sustainable change post-delivery.
Engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clear communication and risk mitigation throughout.
Ensure a smooth handover to business-as-usual teams, embedding tools and training as needed.
Suitable candidate for the HR Project Manager vacancy:
Industry-recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, PMP) essential; degree qualification desirable.
Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex HR or business change projects within multi-stakeholder environments.
Experience in safeguarding, policy development, volunteering, or regulatory frameworks highly advantageous.
Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, able to challenge constructively and influence at all levels.
Experience managing project budgets and risk logs with a clear understanding of governance.
Adept at balancing structure with flexibility in fast-paced, values-led environments.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present and report clearly.
