Project Quantity Surveyor – NEC Contracts (Contractor-Facing)
Location: Central London | Hybrid (2–3 Days Onsite)
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 + Excellent Benefits + All Travel Paid
Type: Permanent | Long-Term Opportunity
Join Live Delivery on the UK’s Most Complex Infrastructure Projects
Are you a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC experience and a background in contractor-side delivery?
This is a permanent opportunity with a high-performing consultancy that works directly with Tier 1 contractors on some of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programmes. You’ll become a key member of a specialist team embedded within live project environments - managing NEC change processes, supporting commercial delivery, and influencing real outcomes on the ground.
Unlike QS roles focused on back-office reporting, this is a project-facing position with visibility, ownership, and impact.
The Role
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you’ll sit within a contractor delivery team, driving commercial performance and managing contractual processes across high-value, complex infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage NEC3/NEC4 compensation events, early warnings, and risk provisions
* Assess programme impacts in collaboration with planning teams (Primavera P6)
* Support subcontractor engagement and validate entitlement
* Lead cost forecasting, change management, and cash flow reporting
* Contribute to commercial strategy, risk mitigation, and dispute avoidance
What We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on contractor-side experience - either directly within a Tier 1 contractor or a consultancy working closely with them in delivery environments.
You’ll need:
* Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4)
* Experience on major infrastructure, rail, or civil engineering projects
* Background working with or supporting Tier 1 contractors
* Familiarity with planning/programme tools (e.g. Primavera P6)
* Confidence operating independently in live delivery environments
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
What’s On Offer
* £60,000 – £80,000 basic salary (DOE)
* All travel covered – including commute to office and site
* Private medical insurance
* Professional development support + 1:1 mentoring
* Hybrid working (2–3 days onsite)
* Exposure to high-impact UK infrastructure projects
* Clear career progression in a stable, delivery-focused role
Why Choose a Permanent Role Here?
In a market dominated by short-term contracts, this is your chance to build something long-term - with the support of a consultancy that values your input and gives you real ownership.
* Work at the heart of live project delivery - not from the side-lines
* Develop deep NEC expertise in a complex, hands-on environment
* Join a specialist team that prioritises career growth and commercial influence
* Enjoy the benefits and security of a permanent role, without sacrificing challenge or pace
