About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to take on the role of Head of School at the federation of St Edmund’s and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary Schools. We are looking for an experienced, practising Catholic teacher to work alongside the Executive Headteacher and Assistant Head (Curriculum & ECT Lead) as the schools join The Our Lady of Walsingham Academy Trust in September 2026.
The role is non-classed based and involves leadership across both sites with the majority based at St Edmund’s. The successful candidate will bring their expertise and knowledge of the primary curriculum in supporting colleagues to ensure pupils enjoy a knowledge rich learning experience which promotes inclusion, diversity and excellence. The successful candidate will take on the Designated Safeguarding lead at St Edmund’s.
You will be joining an established federation of two primary schools where shared planning and assessment are designed to support staff well-being. Cross federation working provides opportunities for collaboration, coaching and mentoring. There is strong professional development and well-being support for all staff.
The Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to demonstrate this commitment in every aspect of their work. The successful candidate will need to undertake a DBS check.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership across both sites with the majority based at St Edmund’s.

* Contribute to federation-wide planning, assessment, coaching and mentoring; support staff well-being and professional development.
