A leading innovator, manufacturer and supplier of bakery and snacking food products, renowned for our great people, outstanding service, and superb products are seeking a Quality & Technical Manager to join their team. This is a hands-on role requiring daily presence in the bakery and in the warehouse areas to oversee technical, and compliance activities and be actively involved in daily decision making. The role is critical to maintaining the companys reputation for high-quality, safe, and consistent products. Core accountabilities as Quality & Technical Manager: Quality Management System Review, update and maintain the company manual ensuring it is fit for purpose and reflects the company aim to be working towards and then at a BRC or equivalent quality system. Ensure that all procedures and policies within the manual are fully understood by and trained out to all relevant staff. HACCP Develop and lead the HACCP team ensuring that it meets on a regular basis and delivers positive improvements. Regularly review and update the current HACCP ensuring it is fully fit for purpose and reflects the company aim to be working towards and then at a BRC or equivalent quality system. Micro Testing Organising relevant product testing schedules to establish and validate shelf life for current products, NPD and EPD. Organise any relevant testing and swabbing to validate and maintain site cleanliness to relevant agreed standards. Audits Be the lead for all customer and external audits, ensuring that a schedule of internal audits is set and achieved with all corrective actions analysed and completed. Keep an up to date file of supplier audit status with any relevant follow up actions as required. Packaging - Alongside the relevant sales team member Undertake legal artwork checks for packaging, case labels and other materials to ensure they are accurate and meet requirements. This will include checking designs against specification and legislation and liaising with customers, suppliers, artwork agencies and printers to finalise designs. Other requirements: Take a proactive role in resolving quality, safety, and process issues as they arise. Must be based on site daily and actively involved in production checks, including goods in and finished goods release. Comply with all Company operating policies and procedures. Contribute to the effective running and development of the Company. Undertake any training or personal development as required. We are looking for a Quality & Technical Manager with the following skills and experience: Strong knowledge of HACCP, Food safety Legislation and QMS Systems Able to work with customers and External Auditors Excellent attention to detail Strong communication skills Experience in Food manufacturing In return you will receive a salary of £40,000 - £42,000 per annum plus company pension and free onsite parking.
