Gear4music is one of the UK’s leading retailers of musical instruments and equipment, and we’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Delivery & Installation Specialist to join our new in-house delivery team.
About The Role
This is not a standard delivery role. You’ll be responsible for the delivery, installation, and basic setup of high-value musical instruments, including pianos, directly into customers’ homes across the UK. As a senior member of the team, you will work with the wider business to ensure every delivery meets our high standards of service, care, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities

* Lead by example, supporting and guiding other drivers on best practice
* Provide an exceptional, knowledgeable, and friendly customer experience
* Safely handle, position, and assemble equipment where required
* Follow delivery routes to ensure efficiency and timeliness
* Work closely with Customer Services to deliver a seamless in-house service
* Ensure compliance with driving regulations, including tachograph usage
* Support training and onboarding of new team members
Your Skills and Experience: What we’re looking for
* Full, clean UK driving licence with C1 entitlement (7.5T required)
* Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
* D4 medical (or willingness to obtain) if required
* Experience using tachographs and driving 7.5T vehicles
* Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting
* Proven experience in delivery and installation or setup of large/bulky items
* Strong hands‑on ability (DIY skills or technical aptitude essential)
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Musical knowledge desirable — ideally a piano player or strong interest in music
* Leadership or team mentoring experience
* Flexible to travel nationwide
Additional Requirements
* Comfortable operating a range of electric vehicles and 7.5T panel van (tachograph required)
* Longer working days may be required depending on location (e.g. long‑distance deliveries such as Cornwall)
* Occasional overnight stays may be required depending on delivery routes
* Flexibility around working hours to accommodate longer/shorter days as required
* Full availability during peak trading (mid‑November to mid‑January)
Hours: Up to 48 hours per week (typically Monday‑Friday, 9.00am‑6.00pm, with flexibility around shorter and longer days as required)
What We’ll Give You
* Generous discount scheme across our full range of music and home entertainment products
* Employee Assistance Programme, offering 24/7 caring & compassionate support across a wide range of areas
* Access to 30 qualified Mental Health First Aiders across the business, demonstrating our commitment to prioritising mental health & wellbeing support as a ‘Mindful Employer’

Plus the following: employee referral scheme, employer pension scheme, corporate eyecare vouchers, cycle to work scheme, company sick pay scheme, enhanced maternity, paternity & adoption pay and annual flu vaccinations.
