The Medical Physics Department of The South Tees NHS Foundation Trust comprises four main sections; Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine, Clinical Measurement and Medical Photography.
The Clinical Measurement Section undertakes both clinical support and development work for a range of specialties.
The Section provides highly specialist measurement services in such areas as intraoperative neuromonitoring, intracranial pressure measurement, overnight home sleep studies and UV quality assurance. A specific aspect of this post involves working in theatres, wards and diagnostic areas. Post-holders will have direct patient contact in these, and other clinical areas.
The team are heavily involved in the Trust’s innovation pathway – in particular the development of prototypes of new medical devices and software. The section also runs the Trust’s 3D printing lab which creates custom 3D prints to be used in surgical planning.
The post holder will be expected to work across all areas in Clinical Measurement, with a particular emphasis on innovation (software, medical devices and 3D printing), UV safety and intraoperative neuromonitoring.
