ABOUT THE ROLE

At M-Sport UK, we live and breathe motorsport. From our headquarters in Cumbria, we design and develop world-class competition cars that perform at the highest levels of rallying – including our works partnership with Ford in both the FIA World Rally Championship and World Rally Raid Championship.

We’re now looking for an ambitious and driven Graduate Hydraulics Engineer to join our high-performance team. If you’re passionate about precision, systems engineering, and pushing performance to the limit, this is your chance to be part of the next generation of motorsport innovation.

Whilst working in our Hydraulics Department, you will work alongside the Engineering and Design teams being the interface between them and the department.

The role and responsibilities include:

* Assist with the build, development, and testing of high-performance hydraulic systems (brake callipers, dampers, power steering systems, and hydraulic pumps).
* Support planning and forecasting to keep projects on track.
* Learn and improve processes and procedures across the department.
* Prepare and issue technical documentation for builds and development work.
* Conduct quality and build checks to maintain high standards.
* Assist with tracking and lifing of hydraulic components to ensure reliability and accuracy.
* Analyse and report on issues to improve system reliability and overall performance.
* Support system layout, component selection, and integration across multiple programmes.
* Work closely with technicians, suppliers, and other engineering departments to ensure system functionality and reliability.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:

* Educated to BEng or MEng degree level in Motorsport Engineering/Technology, Automotive, or Mechanical Engineering.
* Fundamental understanding of hydraulic systems and fluid dynamics.
* A genuine passion for motorsport and a drive to progress within a high-performance engineering environment.
* Keen to learn and ready to get hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
* Have a meticulous attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving.
* Excellent interpersonal, relationship and team building skills, and share our determination to deliver the very best results.
* Pride yourself on delivering a high standard of performance and quality whilst working to strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.

Preferred Experience:

* Previous work experience in the motorsport industry on an industrial placement year, or hands on practical experience (either volunteering on race weekends or formula student) would be beneficial.
* Experience with pressure testing, system bleeding, or hydraulic assembly.

WHY US

Operating a renowned global motorsport business with state-of-the-art facilities at home and winning performances around the globe, M-Sport UK provide the engineering expertise behind an award-winning range of competition cars and has become an industry leader with success across some of the industry’s most acclaimed motorsport series.
