Overview Rhizocore Technologies is an applied mycology startup working with fungi to increase forest growth rates, carbon sequestration in forests, and to remediate polluted freshwater ecosystems. Rhizocore is building the world's largest live fungal strain library and focuses on the use of locally sourced fungi to solve environmental problems such as tree mortality and remediation of freshwater pollutants. We are focused on maximising our impact on increasing biodiversity and carbon sequestration by harnessing the diversity of the fungal kingdom.
As our first Marketing Hire, our Head of Marketing will play a pivotal role in telling our story and enabling us to achieve the growth we need to have a massive impact on biodiversity, the climate and human health.
We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven Head of Marketing to lead the development and execution of our marketing vision. This person will be responsible for building and scaling our brand globally, driving demand generation, managing communications, and positioning Rhizocore as a leader in sustainable innovation. The Head of Marketing will play a pivotal role in shaping our narrative, expanding our reach, and supporting commercial growth.
As Rhizocore’s first dedicated marketing hire, the Head of Marketing will work closely with the CEO, COO and Head of Business Development to level-up Rhizocore’s brand. You will be a ‘full-stack’ marketeer, comfortable in defining strategy and tactics as well as getting your hands dirty with content creation and customer communication. The Head of Marketing will need to be highly collaborative, working with members of the team from across the business. You will be an expert at mobilising limited resources for maximum impact and in finding creative solutions to make Rhizocore stand out.
The Head of Marketing will be able to communicate complex science to a wide audience and be excited to tell Rhizocore’s story. With significant experience in B2B marketing, you can deploy the right tactics to reach customers in traditional and sometimes conservative land sectors such as Forestry and Agriculture. This is an exciting opportunity for the right marketer to build a new brand and have a huge impact both on the company and on the climate and biodiversity crises we face.
Define and execute Rhizocore’s global marketing strategy in alignment with business goals.
Establish clear KPIs and monitor marketing performance across all channels.
Lead the company’s marketing activities, engaging and deploying team members from across the business and building out Rhizocore’s marketing function.

Elevate Rhizocore’s brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Oversee content creation (digital, print, video, and events) to effectively communicate our story in multiple geographies.
● Design and implement campaigns that drive awareness, customer acquisition, and engagement.
Manage digital marketing channels, SEO, and analytics to optimise reach and conversion.
● Build relationships with partners, customers, and industry influencers to foster a strong network.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to align marketing with R&D, product, and operations.

Contract type: Permanent (4-day week)
Salary: £60k-£70k depending on experience
Remote workers will be considered but some travel to our HQ in Scotland and internationally is expected.
Head of Marketing – Requirements
Proven experience in senior marketing roles, preferably in tech, biotech, or sustainability sectors.
Expertise in B2B marketing, with previous experience in the forestry and natural asset management or similar sectors beneficial.
Strong track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
Expertise in digital marketing, brand development, and demand generation. Experience scaling brands internationally, especially in the United States, would be beneficial.
