About the Role
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on‑site Carpenter/Joiner in HMP Usk, bringing safe, clean and efficient environment to our justice client.
Standard Hours
39 hours per week: Mon–Thu 7:30am–4:00pm, Fri 7:30am–3:00pm; on‑call, weekend work and overtime as required.
What You Will Do
* Ensure H&S standards and compliance across the contract.
* Perform joinery work: repairing doors, windows, signposts, formwork, and bespoke timber items.
* Maintain the joinery workshop: machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping, and cleanliness.
* Plan and organise daily work with supervisor; record and submit details on work orders.
* Measure, quote and order materials; maintain stock of building maintenance material.
* Support local and business zero‑carbon programmes in a strategic and efficient manner.
* Handle other reasonable requests as directed by line manager.
What You Will Bring
* Level 2 or 3 in Joinery & Carpentry.
* Manual tool handling skills.
* Experience of ladder use.
Security Clearance
Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
