Join our payroll team as a Payroll Administrator, where you'll play a key role in ensuring our 3,500+ employees across Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People are paid accurately and on time in the UK and EU. What You'll Be Doing
* Ownership of monthly payroll data (via Payroll system) such as starters, leavers, and changes.
* Maintenance of timekeeping system (Kronos) for starters, leavers, and changes.
* Preparation and posting of journals and full reconciliation.
* Assisting with pension queries (automatic enrolment and opt‑out).
* Maintain and develop relationships with all key stakeholders.
* Work closely with HR to support with benefit processes, pre and post payroll processing.
* Ensure all payroll related issues are handled in the most efficient and timely manner possible.
* Assist the wider payroll team with any other ad‑hoc tasks.
* Keep up to date with new legislation, ensuring policies and procedures are correctly in place and documented.
* Liaise with HM Revenue and Customs.
* Proactively audit the payroll information received to ensure there is appropriate authorisation.
* Ensure all colleagues are paid in accordance with agreed timetables.
* Knowledge of manual payroll calculations, PAYE/NI and statutory payments when running payrolls e.g., redundancy, SMP/SAP, SPP and SSP.
* Help where necessary with current projects to deliver corporate objectives.
* Look at current issues; feel confident to make suggestions on where to resolve.
* Ensuring operational service reviews take place monthly to ensure the delivery standards are managed against the service level agreements.
* Comply with internal and external audit requirements.
Qualifications
* Proven experience processing UK payroll. Ideally, you will be an experienced payroll administrator ready to hit the ground running.
* Ability to manage multiple brands and countries simultaneously, navigating a dynamic environment with distinct processes for each.
* A proactive “can‑do” attitude with the ability to engage others and meet strict deadlines in a fast‑paced office.
* High‑level attention to detail and strong data entry skills are essential.
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge current processes to drive positive change.
* Proficiency in the MS Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* An enthusiastic learner who remains curious and enjoys working in a collaborative, people‑focused environment.
