We are working with a business looking to grow their team with a Project Engineer on a hybrid basis, based in Whiteley, leading the successful delivery of rail infrastructure projects across the UK. This is a high-impact role at the heart of a business driving innovation in signalling, systems, and electronics.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Lead full project lifecycle delivery under NEC3/NEC4 contracts, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, quality, and safety standards.
Manage contractual processes including early warnings, compensation events, change control, and payment mechanisms.
Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure timely delivery of designs, documentation, and data.
Prepare and maintain detailed project plans using tools like MS Project, Teamcenter, and CDE platforms.
Identify and mitigate risks, delays, and scope changes through proactive project controls.
Report progress to senior leadership and represent the project in both technical and commercial forums.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Foster strong stakeholder relationships and lead cross-functional teams to project success.
🎯 What We're Looking For
Expert knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4) and their practical application in engineering projects.
Commercially astute individual, with proven experience in infrastructure or rail projects, ideally within signalling or systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Teamcenter, CDEs).
Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
Membership (or working towards) of APM, PRINCE2, RICS, or similar professional body.
