Business Development Manager – Energy Brokerage
Location: UK-wide (flexible, hybrid or remote)
An opportunity has opened for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business growth within the commercial energy market.
This role suits a proven new-business hunter who enjoys opening doors, building relationships from scratch, and consistently converting opportunities. You will be responsible for generating your own pipeline, winning new clients, and growing market presence across target sectors.
The Role
You will own the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close, working autonomously while collaborating with internal teams to ensure a strong client experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, target, and win new business through outbound activity, networking, referrals, and strategic prospecting
* Build and manage a strong pipeline of SME and mid-market clients
* Lead consultative sales conversations to understand client needs and present tailored energy solutions
* Negotiate and close contracts with decision-makers
* Work closely with internal teams to support onboarding and client delivery
* Maintain accurate CRM records and provide pipeline and performance updates
* Keep up to date with market trends, pricing, and regulatory changes within the energy sector
About You
* Proven track record in new business sales rather than account management
* Background in energy brokerage or professional services sales
* Confident engaging with senior stakeholders
* Self-motivated, resilient, and results-driven
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Comfortable working independently

* Existing network within SME or commercial energy markets
* Experience selling multi-utility or value-added services
* CRM experience and a structured sales approach
