As an Infrastructure Support Technician, you will be working closely with the Infrastructure Support Engineer to provide support for end users and internal network infrastructure.
On a day-to-day basis, you might be called upon to help colleagues with more basic IT needs. This will mean you’ll need to share your own knowledge to help others, including setting up new users and managing backups, security and passwords.
Principle Accountabilities
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connection, printer and software issues.
* Check daily backup’s.
* Update network applications as required.
* Troubleshoot and resolve all problems encountered with hardware and software. Escalate requests to the appropriate party, as needed. Replace or repair defective parts and equipment.
* Ensuring antivirus software is installed and up to date on all machines.
* Perform routine server monitoring and performance benchmarking.
* Monitor and remove viruses, spyware, and other non-authorised software.
* Document procedures where appropriate.
* Maintain disaster recovery documentation.
* Complete ad-hoc projects as requested.
Minimum Criteria
* English and Maths at GCSE standard or equivalent
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to build good relationships with colleagues.
* Confident enough to be able to challenge processes.
Qualifications And Experience (desirable)
* BTEC National Diploma in Computer Studies
* NVQ Level 2 in IT Practitioners.
