Product Safety Engineer – Cyber Security Forum Initiative
Location: Glascoed, Monmouthshire
Contract: Initial 12-month contract (Full-time)
Salary: £53.90 per hour (Umbrella Rate – Inside IR35)
Work Schedule: 4 day working week (Mon-Thurs); 3 days per week on site—1 day working from home
The Role
* Production of documentary evidence to support the production of a Safety and Environmental Case (SEC).
* Creating and maintaining product Hazard Logs.
* Contributing to the business requirement to deliver conforming product.
* Undertaking safety reviews of engineering designs to ensure compliance with the Product Safety and Environmental Management Framework, business policies, procedures and associated management plans.
* Providing support and advice to the Design Organisation on matters relating to product safety for projects and bids.
* Undertaking a range of techniques for conducting Hazard Identification, Analysis and Risk Assessment, for example FMEAs, FTAs.
The Candidate
* Deriving and setting safety criteria and requirements using UK MOD defence standards such as Def Stan 00-056, Def Stan 00-51, Def Stan 07-085 or DSA 03.OME (formerly JSP 520).
* Proven track record of producing technical engineering reports including compelling ALARP and safety arguments.
