Scope of leadership role:
Reporting to the Senior HR Director for the Clutches & Brakes Division, the Director, Human Resources will serve as a business partner to the Heavy Duty Operational leader of the Division and will be an important member of the Operations leadership team, contributing to the team’s strategy, direction, and overall effectiveness in supporting the business. This is a hands-on role responsible for defining, developing, and implementing strategic HR initiatives to influence the function’s effectiveness. The position will provide HR leadership for eleven manufacturing sites globally and support various projects and initiatives across the division outside of Operations as needed.
The Director, Human Resources also serves as a key partner to operations leadership teams, providing insights, guidance, and expertise to develop HR initiatives and priorities at the plant level, and leading the effective implementation of these initiatives with clear KPIs.
Responsibilities include managing talent acquisition, workforce planning, management development, talent and performance management, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and labor strategies at the plant level to enhance talent retention and productivity. The role also involves providing indirect oversight and leadership to plant-based HR associates.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce Planning

* Conduct workforce planning aligned with business strategies using data and analytics to identify priorities.
* Assess needs and connect insights across business units to inform talent, structure, and skills requirements.
* Develop organizational design and restructuring plans to optimize resources.
Talent Management/Leadership Development/Diversity & Inclusion
* Lead talent management initiatives to build a diverse pipeline of future leaders.
* Identify development opportunities for leadership growth across sites and globally.
* Facilitate development plans for high potentials, ensuring exposure to leadership teams.
* Manage talent review and succession planning processes, providing guidance to leadership and HR teams.
* Lead talent acquisition for key roles.
* Create an engaging, high-performing, inclusive work environment.
* Apply continuous improvement principles to deliver results aligned with HR strategies and KPIs.
Functional Expertise
* Provide coaching to operational leaders and HR associates.
* Oversee employee relations investigations and resolutions.
* Manage HR processes with a system-oriented approach.
* Leverage data for decision-making and process improvements.
* Advise leadership on HR practices and ensure compliance.
* Identify opportunities to simplify and add value to HR functions.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
Candidate must have a global mindset and proven experience in developing collaborative relationships across all organizational levels. The leader should be energetic, curious, and capable of executing significant projects in a fast-paced environment. Forward thinking and resourcefulness are essential.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or related field.
* At least 8 years of HR business partner experience, ideally in a global industrial manufacturing setting, including plant-level HR responsibilities in union and non-union environments, with multi-site oversight and team management experience.
* Proven success in developing and implementing talent strategies that deliver measurable results.
* Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with an authentic leadership style and executive presence.
* Ability to thrive in a metrics-driven, dynamic environment and adapt quickly.
* Hands-on, resourceful, results-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset.
* Ability to build strong partnerships beyond direct responsibilities.
* Willingness to travel up to 20%.
