Sous Chef – Hotel du Vin
£32,000 per annum / 45 hours per week. Under 18's rate: £10.85 per hour. Permanent contract. Winchester.
Our Winchester sanctuary, established in 1715, provides a grand yet relaxed atmosphere, making it the ideal setting for work, leisure, or cherished moments of tranquility. Hotel Du Vin operates a 24‑bedroom property with a 60‑seater restaurant and two private event spaces. Fifty percent of revenue comes from catering sales; chef brigades frequently work in brasseries that are busier than local restaurants, providing opportunities to develop new skills in fast‑paced, pressure‑filled environments.
Responsibilities
As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef by ensuring the team delivers the brand standards smoothly and consistently. You should have prior experience at this level and be able to demonstrate leadership in developing the team beneath you.
We provide on‑the‑job training in house and work with a training provider to offer nationally recognised apprenticeships, supporting progression to a Head Chef role.
