About the Role
Long-Term Teachers are seeking an experienced SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil within a primary school in South Gloucestershire. This position requires a professional with strong behaviour management skills and a thorough understanding of ADHD and ASD, who can provide tailored support to ensure the pupil’s educational and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver dedicated 1:1 support to enable the pupil to fully engage with the curriculum
* Assist the class teacher in planning and implementing effective support strategies
* Apply consistent behaviour management techniques in line with school policies
* Liaise with teaching staff and parents to provide regular updates on progress
* Support the implementation of intervention programmes for pupils with SEND
Candidate Requirements
* Demonstrable experience working with children with SEND, particularly ADHD and ASD
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under direction
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A patient, compassionate, and professional approach
* Proven ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* A genuine commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupil progress
