Overview
Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) are seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist Clinical Lead to help in the implementation of the Strategic Perinatal Workforce Plan (the Plan), influencing transformative change and improvement to the multidisciplinary workforce who deliver perinatal services across NHS Wales.
This position is required to ensure that the team have the appropriate clinical expertise to effectively and successfully implement the actions within the plan in collaboration with colleagues and partners. This will be achieved via sessional commitment of one session per week until 31st March 2026 to successfully deliver HEIW's IMTP 25/26 requirements.
The successful individual will work as part of the Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Transformation Team and will liaise closely with the Medical Directorate. This post is being offered as a secondment opportunity only. If you wish to apply, you must have your line manager's approval before making an application. This post is for a fixed secondment period but may be extended or made permanent at the end of the secondment period depending on available funding and business requirement.
Responsibilities
* Act as the medical workforce subject matter expert for the implementation of the plan as required
* Autonomous management and successful delivery of actions as delegated by the Associate Director, including maintaining project controls and associated functions, including risk management
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications and Skills
* The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
