Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree
2. HCPC Registration
3. Evidence of C.P.D
Desirable criteria
4. Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
5. Postgraduate study/training related to older people and frailty
Experience
Essential criteria
6. Evidence of working with frail patients, with complex needs which require advanced clinical reasoning
7. Broad experience of working at a band 5 level within the NHS, including experience in rehabilitation
8. Evidence of effective supervision of junior staff
9. Evidence of and desire to supervise students
Desirable criteria
10. Involvement in/ leading QI projects
11. Experience in a community setting
Technical skills/competencies
Essential criteria
12. Ability to assess, manage & treat elderly patients with multi-pathology conditions
13. Experience of respiratory/on-call
14. Skills in goal setting & evaluating outcome measures
15. Ability to produce clear written documentation of intervention & reports
16. Therapeutic moving & handling skills at specialist level
17. IT Skills within word processing
Desirable criteria
18. Use of standardised assessments
19. Ability to complete a holistic assessment which may include some Physiotherapist and nursing skills
Knowledge
Essential criteria
20. Good knowledge of long term conditions affecting the older person
21. Understanding current legislation relevant to older people and frailty
22. The interface between hospital, intermediate care and community services.

23. A sound understanding of capacity issues and ability to recognise need for formal assessment
Interpersonal skills
Essential criteria
24. Demonstrate excellent verbal and nonverbal communication with an ability to establish a good rapport with a range of people.
25. Ability to teach patients, relatives, carers & staff
26. To be able to delegate work appropriately & Ability to work effectively in a team

27. Ability to drive, hold a clean drivers licence
