We have a full-time permanent opportunity available within our Colors department at Tata Steel. This role is ideal for someone with in-depth electrical engineering knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining and improving high voltage infrastructure.
Role: High Voltage Electrical Engineer
Location: Shotton (CH5)
Rate: £48,867 - £58,641 + Bonus
Contract length: Permanent
Shift Patterns: Day Shift
Responsibilities:
* Manage the inspection, maintenance, and upgrade of high voltage electrical systems across the site.
* Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies.
* Provide technical support for capital projects involving HV systems.
* Lead and coordinate planned maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption.
* Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults quickly and effectively.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors.
* Drive improvements to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Essential requirements:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience working with high voltage infrastructure in a heavy industrial environment.
* In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in electrical maintenance.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable requirements:
* Driving licence and access to a car.
* Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies or lean principles.
