We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join our team as a Recovery Motivator, supporting service users in Reading to engage with substance use treatment in the community. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will work with those who are directly impacted by their own substance use, as well as working with key partners to empower communities. Where: Reading Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week Full Time Salary : £25,077.00 Contract: The post is fixed term until 31/03/2026. *Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. About the role: Meet individuals to discuss their personal goals regarding their recovery and encourage individuals to engage with substance use treatment Create links with stakeholders and local communities and work to target people affected by drugs and alcohol who are hard to reach – those who are at risk of being recalled to prison, those isolated in communities, unaware of services, or who do not feel services are for them Attend team meetings/group supervision with the aim of sharing good practice and finding solutions Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies About you: Lived experience of drug or/and alcohol use Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental toward Service Users Confident in working alone as well as part of a team Can remain calm under pressure Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available A willingness to undergo Prison Vetting and MOJ Vetting.
