An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Joint Specialist Operations department as a Disclosure and File Quality Support Officer.
As a Disclosure and File Quality Support Officer you will provide training, guidance and support for police officers and police staff investigators on all aspects of disclosure and file quality, working with operational departments and the CPS to improve case building techniques and performance, driving a 'right first time' approach.
Other activities will include (and not limited to) acting as a practitioner under the Criminal Procedure Investigation Act 1996 as a temporary Disclosure officer, compiling and updating disclosure schedules to resolve urgent live issues; liaise and work with the CPS and other agencies dealing with file quality and disclosure to resolve issues with individual cases, embed change and develop effective working practices; provide guidance to investigators on case file requirements covering legislation and policy; create and deliver training presentations on disclosure and file quality to internal and external audiences and provide SME support to CJS teams.
It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria:
1. Previous experience of working in a Criminal Justice role dealing with investigation management, disclosure and file quality to support criminal proceedings.
2. Proven ability to process complex information, form evidence led conclusions and manage risk with the ability to make sound decisions backed with clear rationales.
3. Excellent communication and presentation skills across all media with the ability to deliver complex messaging clearly and concisely.
4. Ability to work collaboratively with others to solve problems and achieve successful outcomes.
5. Ability to manage a varied workload effectively, prioritising and scheduling appropriately to deliver a high-quality service within challenging timescales.
6. Ability to interpret and apply legislation, organisational policy and SOPs to working practices.
7. Ability to travel and work within Norfolk and Suffolk and beyond as required.
This is a part-time, permanent post, up to 32.5hrs to be worked within Monday-Friday; days/hours to be discussed further at interview.
