Administrator (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)
We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join the team at HMP Altcourse, a busy Category B male prison in Fazakerley, Liverpool.
HMP Altcourse is the busiest remand prison in England, accommodating approximately 1,160 adult males with an average stay of 10 weeks. Practice Plus Group provides primary care and substance misuse services across eight wings, clinic areas, inpatient facilities and reception services. These services would not be possible without our fantastic administration team, and that’s where you come in! This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our team.

This role is initially offered on a 12‑month fixed term contract. Hours: Full Time / 37.5 per week. Shifts are Monday‑Friday, 07:00‑15:00 / 08:00‑16:00. Salary: £25,821 – £28,574 per annum.
Main Duties
* Act as the first point of contact for the healthcare team, proactively speaking to hospitals, GP surgeries, solicitors and others to arrange external appointments, request discharge summaries and patient summaries.
* Work closely with the wider prison team to arrange hospital appointments, escorts and bed watch, ensuring prison officers have up‑to‑date clinic lists.
* Process E‑Referrals.
* Update trackers, systems and spreadsheets for hospital appointments, admissions and consent forms.
* Carry out admin tasks for Early Days in Custody (EDIC), including joining the daily call.
* General admin duties such as scanning, post, minute‑taking and stock check.

Qualifications & Experience
* Extensive administration experience, ideally within a healthcare/medical setting such as hospitals or GP surgery.
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, phone‑based environment.
* Healthcare knowledge and experience are a bonus; knowledge of QAF and clinical coding preferred.
* SystmOne knowledge beneficial.
* Confident using data and maintaining spreadsheets; Excel skills essential.
* Legal right to work in the UK; subject to additional vetting and security checks.
