* Experience in working on a roof
* Able to accommodate a tradesman's needs without excessive instruction
* Able to prepare work areas for the roofers upon instruction and load materials safely
* Be trained in manual handling, working at height and abrasive wheels
* Be competent in the safe use of hand and power tools e.g., hand saw, grinder, hammer
* Have knowledge of roofing materials - recognise eaves, gables, tiles, trims, outlets, liquids etc
