This is a varied position that combines people management with day-to-day administrative duties. The successful candidate will lead a small team, oversee office operations, and provide front-of-house cover when needed. The role would suit someone who enjoys being at the heart of a busy office and is confident supporting colleagues across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities Office Administration : Manage day-to-day admin operations, including supplies, mail distribution, photocopying, archiving, and liaison with couriers and contractors.
Facilities Oversight : Maintain service contracts (e.g. cleaners, equipment), oversee office environment queries, and coordinate ordering of furniture and office essentials.
Team Leadership : Line manage administrative colleagues, including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and ongoing support.
Reception & Switchboard : Ensure professional and timely handling of incoming calls and visitors, and provide cover when required.
Health & Safety : Lead on policy development, risk assessments, compliance, and promoting a safe working environment.
Budget Management : Monitor and control relevant budgets, ensuring costeffective use of resources.
Policy & Compliance : Implement and maintain office procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance.
Internal Coordination : Facilitate communication between departments to support smooth day-to-day operations.
Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is managed in line with company policy.
Candidate Profile Proven experience as an Office Manager, Admin Supervisor, or similar position.
Comfortable with hands-on work, including administration and occasional reception cover.
Strong leadership skills and experience managing small teams.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Proactive, calm under pressure, and service-oriented.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
