Design Manager | Enfield, North London Overview An established main contractor is seeking an experienced Design Manager to oversee the design process on a range of high-value projects across commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate all design activities from tender through to project completion. Review technical drawings and ensure compliance with Building Regulations, employer’s requirements, and project specifications. Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve design and construction issues. Lead design reviews and manage information flow between project stakeholders. Implement value engineering opportunities and design solutions that enhance buildability and cost efficiency. Oversee the appointment, performance, and delivery of design consultants and subcontractors. Ensure all design outputs meet quality, safety, and programme requirements. Support project delivery teams with design-related queries and documentation. Requirements Degree qualified in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline. 5 years’ experience in design management or coordination within a main contracting environment. Excellent knowledge of UK/Irish Building Regulations and construction processes. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders. Proficiency with design management systems and document control procedures
