Broadmoor Hospital is recruiting for a Senior Nurse Practitioner who is enthusiastic, passionate and focused on delivering high standards of physical healthcare and treatment to patients in a high secure setting.
The post holder will work closely with the General Practitioner and manage the Physical Healthcare team as well as work collaboratively with a number of external providers of specialist care and treatment to the patients in Broadmoor Hospital.
It is essential that the successful candidate can demonstrate a high level of advanced practical skills including an active Nurse Independent / Supplementary Prescriber qualification, the ability to provide positive leadership, direction and have experience of managing teams and services.
The candidate will have a working knowledge of urgent / A&E care and experience of working with the Physical Health complexities within a Mental Health Hospital Setting.

The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the direct delivery of high quality individualised care through the management of the Physical Healthcare Centre and to provide Specialist Nurse Practitioner skills and advice in the assessment, treatment and management of physical health problems both long term and acute.
The post holder will be based in the Physical Healthcare Centre Broadmoor Hospital and have direct line management of a group of healthcare staff ensuring effective management, training and supervision.
The post holder will ensure a systematic approach is in place to maintain / manage the performance of staff, ensuring professional standards are maintained across a range of clinical areas and disciplines. This includes the responsibility for the management of all resources within their area including budget management and service contract arrangements. The role will also provide a senior leadership role in the delivery of Clinical duties and diagnostic tasks associated with long term conditions as well as a working knowledge of emergency care. The post holder will; be expected to make informed decisions within their own specialty and scope of professional practice, and have An active Nurse Independent / Supplementary Prescriber qualification.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
1. Registered General Nurse, Adult Branch, current NMC Registration. Evidence of post qualification study, professional development at master’s level (Post grad certificate, MSc or equivalent). Working towards Relevant post degree/MSc study includes advanced nursing practice, advanced assessment, continence, tissue viability
2. NMC Nurse Independent / Supplementary Prescriber qualification
3. Experience and evidence of teaching, demonstrated to Practice Supervisor /998/SLICE or equivalent

4. Evidence of further skills/ academic training either completed or being undertaken.
5. Dual registration i.e. RMN/LD
