Job Title: Staff Nurse - Eye Unit
We are currently recruiting for a staff nurse to join our excellent Eye Unit in our CQC-rated ‘Outstanding’ hospital in the heart of Kent. In this role, you will contribute to and deliver organisational aspects of the development strategy, plan and implement high standards of care following hospital guidelines and protocols, promoting a patient-focused approach.
We would also consider a Nursing Associate for this position, with a salary range of £25,147 - £26,371 per annum.
* The salary for a Newly Qualified Staff Nurse will be £28,407 for the first 12 months.

About the role
* Plan and facilitate theatre lists where necessary.
* Accurately enter patient information on IT systems.
* Ensure patient care areas are safe, fit for purpose, and effectively maintained.
* Maintain the safe custody of medications and controlled drugs.
* Supervise junior team members, including providing clinical supervision and mentoring.
Skills and experience required
* First level Registered Nurse.
* Ophthalmic experience is desirable but not essential.
* Willingness to undertake ophthalmic training.
* Assist in ophthalmic theatre procedures as scrub nurse or recovery nurse.
* ILS training or willingness to undertake training.
* Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to support team working in a positive environment.
* Strong patient-centred approach.
* Sound computer skills.
* Foster professionalism and a positive team environment.
* Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and ethics in the workplace.
