We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Operations Director to lead and optimise the day-to-day operational functions of our multi-site organisation. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director, with responsibility for translating the company’s strategic vision into effective operational performance across departments. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, process improvement, and organisational skills to drive efficiency, quality, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Collaborate with the MD and senior leadership to develop and execute the operational strategy aligned with business goals.
* Translate strategic objectives into actionable operational plans, associated KPIs, and performance metrics.
* Provide regular reporting to the MD on operational performance, quality and opportunities.
Operational Oversight
* Lead and oversee daily operations across 3 sites, with multiple departments such as production, customer service and quality control.
* Develop and implement efficient systems, processes, and policies to improve productivity and quality.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal regulations, and internal policies.
Team Leadership and Development
* Manage, mentor, and develop multi-site teams and functional heads.
* Promote a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and CI
* Champion employee engagement and effective change management practices.
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, both for operational expenses and capex requirements.
* Identify areas to improve cost-efficiency without compromising service or quality.
Risk & Quality Management
* Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and other regulatory requirements.
* Monitor operational risks, production quality and implement mitigation strategies.
* Establish systems for monitoring quality, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience (7+ years) in a senior operations role within a growing or complex organisation.
* Strong leadership, people management, and organisational development skills.
* Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiency, process optimisation, and change initiatives.
* Commercial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
