Overview
Senior / Principal Consultant (Transport Policy Monitoring & Evaluation) at WSP. Role focuses on monitoring and evaluation of transport policies within WSP's Intelligent Infrastructure discipline, working with clients at central and local government levels to deliver evidence-based insights.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a multi-discipline monitoring and evaluation project, including assessing evaluability, scoping and designing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, delivering evaluations of local and national transport policies, and fostering learning and impactful action from evaluation insights.
* Provide expert monitoring and evaluation advice to help clients deliver objectives and optimise benefits.
* Collaborate with a range of experts from across WSP to ensure projects bring in the skills needed to meet project needs.
* Contribute to the growth of the Monitoring and Evaluation capability team to support delivery against its ambitions.
What we are looking for
* A proven technical capability in the design and execution of monitoring and evaluation frameworks of policies, programmes and/or projects, including the design of impact and process evaluation approaches.
* Understanding and experience applying different evaluation methods including quasi-experimental and theory-based methods.
* Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills (e.g., statistical, economic or social research) with experience delivering robust mixed-method analyses.
* Experience applying government guidance on monitoring and evaluation, including HM Treasury’s Magenta and Green Books, or Department for Transport’s Transport Appraisal Guidance.
* Ability to foster successful collaborations and communicate technical evaluation insights to a wide range of audiences, supporting engagement and buy-in.
* A passion for evidence-informed decision-making and championing robust evidence.
* A proven track record of working collaboratively with government, research and commercial partners.
