Are you looking for your next step supporting people with mental health challenges? Buckinghamshire Mental Health Support Team is looking to recruit a qualified EMHP within their Amershm team.
Buckinghamshire MHST was one of the national trailblazer sites for a Department of Health and Department of Education project. We have now expanded our reach in Buckinghamshire with 8 teams working with primary, secondary schools and some further education settings.
The successful candidates will join a team of EMHP and trainee EMHP Workers to support schools across the locality. The team is led by an Operational Lead, with supervision from EMHP Supervisors. The role is full time but part time applications will be considered. Please note to be eligible for this role you must hold an Education Mental Health Practitioner Qualification.
Main duties of the job
* Assess and deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, working at all times in collaboration with and giving respect to the education function of the setting in which the post-holder is deployed.
* Work in partnership to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their parents/carers, families and educators in the self‑management of presenting difficulties.
* Deliver evidence‑based interventions for children and young people in an education setting with mild to moderate mental health problems.
* Help children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services.
* Support/facilitate staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.
* Work with and within education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services.
The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.

Person specification
EMHP Competency
Essential criteria
* Understanding of MHSTs and their role in schools and completion of EMHP qualification.
Desirable criteria
* Completion of EMHP course.
CAMHS working
Essential criteria
* Experience of working within a CAMHS structure.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of working in CAMHS at Band 4 or Band 5.
Multi‑agency Approach
Essential criteria
* Understanding of multi‑agency working to support schools.
* Knowledge of schools system.
* Ability to deliver intervention to children and families.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of working directly in schools in a supportive role.
