Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a specialist setting before taking your next step towards a career in education, clinical psychology, mental health, or social work?
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Blackburn, supporting students aged 11–16 who experience a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties that can impact their ability to access mainstream education.
As part of the SEMH provision, you will be working alongside a supportive team of staff to help create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment. Your responsibilities may include:
* Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
* Assisting in the development of behaviour management strategies
* Supporting students with emotional regulation and engagement in lessons
* Promoting positive relationships and helping pupils build social and communication skills
* Contributing to the delivery of tailored learning and pastoral support plans
This role offers valuable, practical experience for graduates seeking a future in psychology, counselling, educational psychology, or teaching. You’ll develop an understanding of the challenges faced by young people with SEMH needs and gain insight into multidisciplinary approaches within specialist education settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
