A long-established and highly respected aerospace manufacturer in the Tewkesbury area is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with strong capability in Star Sliding Head Lathes and programming using Partmaker SwissCam. This is a day-shift role offering stability, technical challenge, and the chance to make a real impact on machining performance.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing, improving, and supporting CNC sliding head machining processes, ensuring high levels of precision, efficiency, and repeatability across aerospace component production.
Key Responsibilities
* Programming and optimising Star Sliding Head Lathes
* Creating and refining manufacturing processes for complex aerospace components
* Improving cycle times, tooling strategies, and machining efficiency
* Troubleshooting machining issues and supporting operators on the shop floor
* Working closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to maintain high standards
About You
* Proven experience with Star Sliding Head Lathes
* Skilled in Partmaker SwissCam programming
* Background in precision engineering, ideally aerospace or similar sectors
* Strong problem-solving ability and a continuous-improvement mindset
* Confident working independently on a day shift within a collaborative team
