Capgemini is recruiting experienced Lead Quality Engineers to build solutions for public sector clients. The role involves delivering critical digital services from cradle to grave on high-performance cloud platforms using Java-based languages and on-premises infrastructure. As a member of a self‑empowered, multi‑disciplined team, you will shape your work using the latest industry practices and collaborate in a mature Agile environment.
Hybrid Working
Your location will vary depending on your role, personal needs, and business requirements. Typically this will include company offices, client sites, and remote work. If your location is Telford or Worthing (Worthing office relocating to Brighton & Hove in late 2026) you will work from the office 40–70% of the time. Other locations should be prepared to visit the Telford or Worthing office one to twice a month (Lead engineers may be more frequent). Fully remote work (100% from home) is not permitted.

* Technical Leadership: lead and oversee engineering projects, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and adherence to timelines.

* Mentorship: guide and mentor less experienced engineers to foster continuous learning.

Your Skills And Experience
* Strong knowledge of the QA process and test design.
* Hands‑on experience with automated test frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, JUnit).
* Knowledge of stubbing/mock frameworks such as WireMock.
* Understanding of non‑functional testing: performance, security, accessibility.
* Experience with version control systems such as Git.
* Experience with iterative and incremental delivery.
* Hands‑on test automation pyramid experience.
* Experience with API testing tools.
* Experience in functional or system testing.
* Experience using project management tooling (e.g., JIRA).
* Good knowledge of Agile methodologies.
* Excellent written and oral communication, strong problem‑solving and collaboration skills.
* Proactive mindset looking for improvement opportunities.
