Senior Technical Sales & Project Manager – Aluminium Joinery
We’re looking for a rockstar with solid experience in the aluminium window industry.
A hybrid office/field-based role, you’ll be providing technical sales advice to our builders as well as conducting site measures for both light commercial and residential aluminium joinery projects. Clued-up and comfortable with all types of aluminium joinery suites and products – including seismic and flush-glaze – you’ll be able to spot design fish-hooks at fifty paces and will be all over the details of our more challenging projects. We’re looking for someone who is an inherent problem-solver who can really shape and curate this section of our business, so you’ll need to be comfortable taking on responsibility as well as continuous improvement. It’s also critical you’re a forward-looking, progressive thinker who is sales-oriented and committed to driving change and implementing new processes.
A high level of familiarity with APL Window Systems products (or equivalent) is essential, as is the ability to provide accurate specification, measurement, and installation advice to builders. Experience with high-end residential homes and smaller scale commercial projects (such as schools and retail) is essential, as is sales acumen and a friendly, personable, can-do attitude.
The ideal candidate will:
* Have a minimum of 5+ years’ site measure experience;
* Understand the importance of service-focused sales strategies and have a demonstrable record of meeting sales targets;
* Be able to accurately specify and quote all types of APL joinery for both domestic and light commercial projects – Residential, Metro, Architectural, Commercial – ensuring comprehensive knowledge across our product range;
* Be proficient with V6 and able to quote all available suites (including seismic and flush-glaze);
* Be capable of handling complex quotes, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing solutions for unique project requirements;
* Be detail-oriented/highly accurate;
* Be able to multi-task efficiently and manage time well;
* Be able to work with minimal supervision;
* Have experience with different cladding and flooring systems;
* Be able to prepare technical clarification diagrams for non-standard items;
* Enjoy working as part of a team.
Nice to have:
* Mentoring experience.
Who are you?
To you, “sales” isn’t a dirty word. But you also understand hard-selling is a major turnoff. You love working with builders and understand how important it is to support them with great service and quality products. You love technical detail. Like, you LIVE for it and want to marry it. You’re self-motivated. Target-driven. Organised. You’re also deadline and customer-focused. And you genuinely want to be part of a team and make things better. (Specifically, you think “us”, not “me”.) Preferably, you don’t order red velvet when it’s your turn to choose a birthday cake (likely to incite a company-wide mutiny) and you should also be aware that listening to (or singing along to) Celine Dion is an actionable hazard on our Health and Safety register. (The team can’t take any more hearts going “on and on”, or “Is that a cat being strangled?” soprano solos.) Spotify playlists will be checked upon interview.
Who are we?
A South Auckland aluminium window fabricator with big goals. We love working with builders and want them to love working with us, too. Trust and integrity are at the core of everything we do and we have a reputation for delivering great quality joinery and backing up our product with exceptional customer service. We’re not the biggest player out there but we care about each and every client who chooses to work with us. We want them to be thrilled with our product AND our people.
Our team?
We’re a friendly, hard-working bunch. All ages. All genders. A range of nationalities. A smorgasbord of backgrounds. But, without exception, we sweat the details. And go the extra mile. (More often than not with an off-the-wall sense of humour.)
Base salary (negotiable dependent on experience) + company car + phone. Relocation package (in country) available to select candidates.
