We are a team of specialist nurses with expertise in the care and treatment of epilepsy and our administrative team. We offer a service to clients in Kent and Medway.
We provide a link between the person with epilepsy, the consultant neurologists and the GP giving advice and monitoring medicine changes.
We provide education, advice and support to empower our clients, relatives and carers to manage their condition. Our goal is to achieve optimal seizure control.
We offer assessments and support via phone or online appointments and we will offer face to face appointment in clinics and patient homes.
Main duties of the job
You will manage and support a complex clinical caseload of patients requiring specialist services, working independently as a practitioner. Collaborate with the Operational Manager of Specialist Clinical Services to drive strategic development and enhance clinical practice in your area of expertise.
Take responsibility for a designated caseload, showcasing expertise and efficiency in delivering clinical pathways. Serve as a role model, demonstrating advanced skills and knowledge in your specialist field. Offer expert clinical advice to staff within specialist services and the broader multi-disciplinary team.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
1. Evidence of postgraduate education in specialist clinical area
2. First Degree in professional nursing/therapy
3. Non-medical independent prescriber
4. Professional Registration
5. Evidence of continued professional development appropriate to role
Desirable criteria
6. Accreditation for Clinical education
7. Membership of appropriate Special Interest Group(s)
8. Masters degree or willingness to work towards
9. Clinical Supervisor
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
10. Experience in implementing change of clinical practice or process
11. Previous experience working at Band 6/7
12. Experience of supervising and appraising staff/students
13. Experience working as a clinical educator/mentor
14. Experience of participation in audit
15. Experience in supervisory and teaching skills
16. Experience of managing complaints
17. Knowledge and experience of quality issues, clinical governance and outcome measures
