Role & Responsibilities: DSP is looking for an experienced Oracle DBA to join our team. This role, will be within our managed services team delivering both support and project-based work for our customers. The successful candidate will become a member of the Oracle DBA team. Initially however, this particular role will be a dedicated, named resource supporting one of DSP’s key customers for a 12 month engagement. During this time any spare capacity will be spent working alongside the existing Oracle DBA team to integrate into the team and provide support services to the wider customer base. Following this 12 month engagement the successful candidate will formally join the Managed Services Oracle DBA team. The role will be home based with occasional visits to customer sites or DSP offices. Following the initial 12 month engagement, the successful candidate will be required to join the on call rota. Essential Experience: Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience working as an Oracle Database Administrator, including delivery of; reactive support, proactive support and maintenance, patching, installation, configuration, performance tuning, RAC, Dataguard and RMAN. Experience of upgrading Oracle Database environments Experience of related Oracle technologies, e.g. Exadata, Weblogic, OCI Previous experience working within a support services environment, underpinned by ITIL-Based working practices. Database Maintenance and Management. Backup and recovery - manage backup solutions. Support disaster recovery procedures and configuration. Replication (reporting databases and Maintenance environments). Patching and upgrades. Monitoring. Data File Management. DB Capacity Management & Reporting. Performance Tuning. Health Checks. Administration of Incident Management. Where incidents are identified as a Technical Issue, and assigned to the Oracle Database Administrator work to identify resolution or agree work around with the IT Operations Help Desk. Recording and tracking Incident resolution. Provide the IT Operations Help Desk with a service level commitment. Keeping the IT Operations Help Desk informed on Incidents status and progress in line with SLA’s. Database Problem escalation to the team and third parties as appropriate. Database ISO 27001 Security Management Framework compliance. Oracle DB Subject Matter Expert. Location This role will be home based with occasional travel to customer sites or DSP offices.
