Senior Preconstruction Manager
Arc Partnership is a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) and SCAPE. Formed in 2016 to support the council in creating an efficient, safe, and sustainable land and property portfolio.
We provide lifecycle property services, including the delivery of a high volume of multi- disciplinary projects, working with in-house architectural and engineering design teams as well as procuring and managing delivery by a range of local advisory and contractor supply chain partners.
Were growing our team in response to a significant pipeline of work, with an emphasis on education and development projects for Nottinghamshire County Council.
Your new role:
Were looking for an experienced Senior Preconstruction Manager to join our team, and take ownership of the planning, mobilisation and programme management of a portfolio of projects and advisory commissions in their early stages.
Youll be responsible for the production of accurate preconstruction phase information to inform design and construction activity throughout the life of our projects. Youll also manage the production and quality assurance of early-stage project reports for our clients. (e.g. feasibilities, options appraisals)
You will lead a small team of Preconstruction Managers, helping to nurture, grow and develop their skills, and working with managerial peers to ensure continuous improvement of our project management family of roles.
What youll bring:
Youll have significant experience of construction project and programme management, within the built environment sector. You should have experience of managing client relationships in a political or complex environment, working with external stakeholders to provide briefings and advice to committees and boards across a wide range of clients and stakeholders.
Youll be fully conversant across all RIBA work stages, particularly in the development and refinement of client briefs and the management of activity between RIBA PoW Stages 1 to 3 including budgets and change control, followed by seamless handover to colleagues to deliver future work stages.
Essential:
Proven experience of coordinating design functions within a multi-faceted construction design, project management and contracting business.
Proven experience of project management in the preparation and coordination of pre-construction information (PCI), including the delivery of feasibility studies, project reviews, associated reports, surveys, site data, responsibility matrices, and project execution plans across a range of concurrent projects / programmes
A broad understanding of all multi-disciplinary teams including Architectural; Building Surveying; Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering as well as associated specialist consultants.
Strong design, commercial, financial and contractor management skills.
Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to use own initiative to plan and manage and prioritise own work programme, projects and other resources.
Proven leadership skills, able to motivate, influence and bring about change.
Degree (or equivalent) in one of the following disciplines: Architecture: Building Surveying; Engineering Construction Management or other relevant construction related field.
Desirable:
An understanding of Digital Construction practices, including the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and associated standards (eg ISO19650), and benefits of appropriate technologies in the built environment.
