About the role
We are recruiting Graduates for our Industry teams, who have a flexible approach and an appetite to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy. You will enjoy working in a collaborative environment with diverse clients and projects.
We are recruiting graduates in the following services and locations:
* Industry Mechanical – The Mailbox, Birmingham, Manchester or Stockton
* Industry Process Engineering – The Mailbox, Birmingham, Cardiff or Teesside
As a Graduate in our Industry teams, you will contribute to exciting and innovative projects. Our industrial clients benefit from our deep understanding of industrial and energy processes, with multidisciplinary expertise to plan, design, build, and operate new assets. We provide full life cycle services to support operating facilities across various industrial and manufacturing sectors in developed and emerging markets. We maximise output, improve safety standards and productivity, and translate the latest innovations into workable designs. You will be embedded in multidisciplinary teams and mentored by experienced engineers, gaining exposure to real-world challenges and innovative solutions.
Projects
Our Industry Team has worked on numerous assignments, and you will help deliver projects such as:
* Battery Electrolyte Manufacturing facility
* Solvent Distillation Facilities
* Biotechnology Laboratory Projects, Food laboratories and Biopharm
* Primary chemical pharma manufacture and General Manufacturing
* Utility projects
* High purity distillation plant and Rare earth materials refining plant
* LNG plant capacity expansion
* Catalyst manufacturing plant
* High containment laboratory facility
Chemicals, Advanced Manufacturing & Pharmaceuticals/Life Sciences
Graduates in this area build core competencies in process design, safety, sustainability and project delivery, with exposure to live client projects across chemicals, pharmaceuticals and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Day-to-day activities could include:
* Process Design Support — developing PFDs and P&IDs; supporting mass and energy balances; assisting in equipment sizing and specification
* Technical Documentation — preparing design reports, datasheets, and specifications under supervision
* HAZOP studies, risk assessments, LOPA studies and design reviews
* Maintaining version control and document traceability
* Software & Simulation — using tools like Aspen HYSYS, AutoCAD for process modelling and layout design
* Project Coordination — collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
* Attending client meetings and site visits; assisting in cost estimation
* Learning & Development — shadowing senior engineers and internal training on industry codes
* Working toward chartered status (e.g., IChemE)
Mechanical Engineering
Graduates in our Mechanical Engineering team are involved in specifying process and utilities equipment and industrial piping systems, with support from senior engineers.
Day-to-day activities could include:
* Writing specifications and data sheets
* Liaising with suppliers
* Co-ordinating within the internal design team and ensuring safety in design
* Interfacing with clients
You will be part of an enthusiastic team and will engage with internal and external stakeholders in dynamic project environments.
Graduate Development Programme
Our two-year Graduate Development programme supports personal and professional growth through blended learning, core business and professional skills training, career development workshops, mentoring for professional registration and extensive on-the-job experience.
