NQ+ Solicitor – Construction & Engineering (Contentious Focus) – Manchester
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified(or junior) solicitorto join a leading national Construction and Engineering team. This is a Manchester-based role, with a strong emphasis on contentious construction work, supporting high-profile energy and infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally.
The Team
This Construction and Engineering team operates nationally and is recognised for its expertise in both contentious and non-contentious matters. The team advises clients at every stage of the project lifecycle – from procurement through to completion – and has a strong profile in the market.
Clients include major developers, banks, specialist contractors, sub-contractors, funders and consultants. The team has a strong presence across sectors such as energy, transport, infrastructure,retail and facilities management.
The Role
* Working closely with an experienced team on construction and engineering matters (with a contentious focus).
* Handling disputes relating to high-value and complex projects.
* Supporting senior lawyers and partners on a range of energy and infrastructure mandates.
* Exposure to national and cross-border work, with opportunities to develop sector-specific expertise.
About You
* Newly qualified solicitor (or approaching qualification) with experience in construction law, ideally with exposure to contentious matters during training. Candidates with 1 year PQE are also encouraged.
* A genuine interest in the construction and engineering sector, particularly disputes.
* Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build strong client relationships.
* Commercial awareness and enthusiasm for working on major projects across multiple sectors.
