We are partnered with Central London Council, who are looking to appoint a Development Manager to join their fantastic Development & Regeneration team
As a Development Manager, you'll be instrumental in delivering the Council's ambitious development programmes. This role sees you involved in the entire project development cycle, from initial concept right through to occupation.
Reporting directly to the Senior Development Manager.
Role Overview:
You'll assist or take the lead in managing development schemes, coordinating multi-disciplinary consultant teams, contractors, and developer partners across all RIBA design stages (0-7) .
Ensuring strict adherence to the Council's Employer Requirements (ERs) and contractual obligations will be crucial. You'll proactively identify, assess, and manage scheme risks, escalating issues promptly for effective decision-making.
Fostering strong collaborative relationships, both internally with teams like Development Services and externally with stakeholders, is key. You'll ensure efficient management of design development, financial performance, and all aspects of pre/post-completion.
Building and maintaining robust connections with developers, contractors, agents, consultants, and various internal client departments will be a significant part of your role.
Responsibly managing budgets, overseeing cost plans, and providing timely, accurate project updates on progress, risks, programme, and financial viability are all part of the brief.
Skills and Experience:
Degree or professional qualification with 3-5 years of development management experience.
A proven track record of successfully managing (or assisting in the management of) projects across RIBA stages 0-7.
Understanding and implementation of ERs, design, development, cost, and construction compliance.
Excellent written and spoken English, report writing, and communication skills.
Knowledge of construction and contracting, value engineering, and commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
