Job Description:
Build Bold Technology. Make a Meaningful Impact.
Are you an experienced software engineer looking for more purpose in your work? Do you thrive in dynamic, start-up environments where your voice and skills truly matter? Excited by developing cutting-edge products that push boundaries and deliver real-world change? If so, read on.
Why This Role is Great
Our client is a fast-growing Tech for Good start-up, born from world-class research and backed by serious ambition. They are developing a next-generation hardware-software product that combines deep tech innovation with real human impact. As part of a small, highly capable team, you’ll work at the forefront of product engineering— influencing architecture, setting standards, and helping scale the solution to market.
This role is for someone who wants to build, not just maintain. Someone who wants to own problems, not just follow tickets.
Here’s what you’ll get to do:
* Contribute to the design and development of a groundbreaking new product from scratch.
* Take a lead role in shaping the software architecture across the entire stack.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX, hardware, compliance, and product.
* Code with clarity, scalability, and maintainability in mind—always thinking ahead.
* Pair-program and mentor, helping to grow a strong internal engineering culture.
* Embrace the ambiguity and excitement typical of early-stage tech projects.
About You
This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, is energized by deep tech, and wants their work to have a meaningful impact. You’ll be working with forward-thinking minds, solving technical challenges with elegance and purpose.
The wish list includes:
* Significant experience in software engineering (5+ years preferred).
* Broad understanding of modern development practices, tools, and full-stack architecture.
* Experience building mobile apps; Swift experience is a bonus but not essential.
* Comfort working in Agile, collaborative environments.
* Strong fundamentals in data structures, architecture, and clean code principles.
* Good communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
* Bonus points for a mathematical or analytical background, but curiosity and problem-solving skills are equally valuable.
If you’re excited about the mission and have transferable skills, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every point.
What’s in It for You
This is more than a job—it’s a chance to help shape the future of impactful technology.
* Flexible working hours with hybrid options.
* Lunch and dinner provided when working late.
* Regular team outings and retreats, including outreach and off-site events.
* A location near a major tube line, with access to facilities like a gym and climbing wall.
* Access to a fully equipped workshop with tools like 3D printers and CNC machines—available for professional or personal projects.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Our client and Humand Talent are committed to building diverse and inclusive teams. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. If you believe you’d thrive here, we want to hear from you—even if you’re not sure you meet every point.
