Why become a governor at Four Swannes? Four Swannes Primary School serves a small but richly diverse community, and we are proud of the strong, caring relationships that underpin school life. Governors play a vital role in helping ensure that every child feels safe, valued and a sense of belonging, and that the school continues to offer a nurturing, inclusive and welcoming environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a team that places wellbeing, equity and inclusion at the heart of its work, while striving to achieve the best possible outcomes for all children. Who are we looking for? What we can offer A warm, welcoming and supportive Governing Body Access to high-quality training and ongoing development Opportunities to develop skills in strategic leadership and governance A meaningful opportunity to make a positive difference to children, families and the wider community What is the role of the Governing Body? The Governing Body works at a strategic level to: Set and uphold the vision, values and ethos of the school Support and challenge the Headteacher and senior leaders Ensure high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion Oversee the school’s finances and effective use of resources Governors do not manage the day-to-day running of the school, but work in partnership with staff to ensure the school remains a safe, inclusive and successful place for all.
