Team Leader
Location: University College London Hospital (UCLH), 235 Euston Road, London, NW1 2BU (North West London)
Salary: £37,178 per annum
Full time – 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Days)

Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate, and monitor staff to develop and improve their skills, ensuring customer expectations are continually met or exceeded.
* Liaise with clinical staff to understand patient special needs and mobility, ensuring safe transport and dignity.
* Operate interchangeably as driver or attendant in a single-person or two-person ambulance crew, promoting teamwork.
* Ensure the contracted service is delivered timely and to required standards in line with policies and procedures.
* Be available to transport patients as required.
* Engage with ward staff and patients to organize and allocate resources to optimise service delivery.
* Liaise with external agencies as required, resolving contractual issues and ensuring cooperation.
* Provide support and advice to ambulance crews.
* Assist in planning shift rosters, ensuring relevant cover throughout the year.
* Assist day controllers in planning efficient and safe transport of patients.
* Undertake supervision of journeys to ensure compliance.
* Perform regular checks to ensure cleaning requirements and rotas are achieved.
* Ensure vehicle and equipment checks are completed as required.
* Address staff matters as first point of contact.
* Follow all appropriate safety procedures and report potential hazards or misuse of the service to the Service Delivery Manager.
* Carry out any other duties relevant to the role as directed by the Area Manager and/or Service Delivery Manager.
* Maintain confidentiality by not divulging any confidential information to unauthorized persons.
Performance Criteria
* Excellent patient feedback with no customer complaints.
* Vehicles and equipment kept clean and fully maintained; issues reported per schedule.
* Fully up-to-date with manual handling techniques and equipment use.
* Meet deadlines for data production and task completion.
* Accurate, up-to-date servicing and maintenance records.
* Maintain accurate records in an easily accessible filing system that meets company and group standards.
* Good health and safety record with no accidents or incidents.
* Work well within the team.
* Provide efficient information and data support to Contract Manager and Assistant Contract Manager where appropriate.
* Collect and post mail within specified timeframes.
* Maintain a helpful, pleasant, and polite manner towards colleagues and clients.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
* Full manual driving licence with no more than 3 points.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Capacity to lift and move patients.
* Caring attitude towards patients with an outgoing friendly manner.
* IHCD FPOS (Advanced level).
* Demonstrated high level of commitment to efficient and effective service provision.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure without compromising standards.
* Professional and calm under pressure.
* Categories C1 & D1 on driving licence (desirable).
