Job Description:
* Pink Giraffe is a recruitment agency hiring on behalf of the client.
* The role is fully remote with a requirement to visit Bristol once a month for a team meeting (applicants must be able to meet this requirement).
* Applicants must have full right to work / UK citizenship.
* Experience working for marketing agencies is required (either in-house or as a client).
Reports to: The company owner.
The Client Financial Controller will oversee finance operations for a portfolio of clients, lead and develop the internal finance team, collaborate closely with clients, provide strategic financial insights, and ensure high-quality financial services. Responsibilities include setting internal procedures, leading the team, and supervising financial operations within the company.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Client Financial Operations & Reporting:
* Manage daily financial operations including invoicing, payroll, tax returns, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
* Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting for clients.
* Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments.
* Prepare management accounts with commentary.
* Work with client department heads to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
* Consult with clients and suggest process improvements.
* Attend meetings with clients' leadership teams and stakeholders, presenting financial reports and insights.
* Meet all reporting deadlines and complete month-end processes promptly.
2. Internal Control and Processes:
* Establish and maintain financial procedures for internal and client-facing processes.
* Ensure systems are scalable for growth.
* Coordinate with outsourced partners for bookkeeping, accounts, and tax returns.
* Supervise VAT returns, payroll, and month-end close.
* Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Other Responsibilities:
* Recruit, mentor, and develop the finance team.
* Collaborate with outsourced accountants and client teams.
* Plan for succession within the company.
* Lead and manage the financial team.
* Follow company policies and procedures.
* Build relationships with clients and their teams.
* Motivate and challenge team members.
