The Role As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of major water infrastructure projects in the Aylesbury region. Working as part of an established and professional commercial team, youll be responsible for managing project finances, mitigating risk, and maximising value on high-value AMP and framework schemes.
Key Responsibilities Take full commercial ownership of water and wastewater projects (typically £10m£40m in value)
Lead on cost planning, valuation, change control, and subcontract management
Oversee procurement, contract administration, and financial forecasting
Ensure commercial compliance with NEC contracts and framework agreements
Provide accurate monthly cost/value reconciliations and financial reporting
Support and mentor Assistant and Intermediate QSs within the team
Collaborate closely with project managers and client representatives to achieve financial and delivery objectives
Identify commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring robust mitigation strategies are in place
About You Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (MRICS advantageous)
Strong background with a main contractor on civil engineering or water infrastructure projects
Solid working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts
Excellent commercial and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Confident communicator with excellent client-facing abilities
Ambitious and driven individual looking to progress within a growing contractor
Proven ability to deliver projects from pre-construction through to final account
