Shift Leader pay starts from £14.76 per hour and increases to £15.97 per hour for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
New colleagues joining Tesco are offered a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week. If you prefer fewer hours (minimum 12), opportunities are available too and we would love to hear from you.
The availability windows shown indicate the times we would like you to be available. We will schedule contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks notice of shifts. We are happy to consider close matches to advertised times to support flexibility.

It takes a lot of great people to run a store, and a great Shift Leader helps keep things running smoothly. You will oversee store operations from the shop floor, face customer needs, and strive to improve service for customers, colleagues and communities every day.
As a Shift Leader you will:
* Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety
* Lead duty shifts, coordinate the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations
* Assist customers and ensure they leave with what they came for
* Identify opportunities to improve service, coach colleagues and provide feedback
* Guide and support colleagues in-store, maintaining a safe place to work and shop
* Understand store performance and help managers deliver actions to improve operations
* Lead by example for colleagues in all you do

You will be responsible for
* Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers
* Supporting colleagues to deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks
* Opening and closing the store, completing duty cover, and ensuring decisions are safe for everyone
* Being the go-to person in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries
* Keeping the store clean, tidy and well-presented
* Supporting managers to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events
* Contributing to a positive team atmosphere that is inclusive
* Providing great customer service by listening to customers and placing them first
* Keeping the team informed about communications, changes, or updates
* Staying knowledgeable about store performance and looking for improvements to operations
* Coordinating store improvements and removing obstacles to service
* Following health and safety procedures and ensuring colleagues do the same
* Recognising and celebrating colleagues providing great service
