Business: The ReFood AD plants operate as integrated recycling units, processing a variety of food waste to produce renewable electricity, heat and ReGrow, a nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farms. The plants also recycle the food waste packaging. The plants provide an environmentally sustainable solution for all waste producers looking for a safe method of diverting food waste from landfills. The Position: An exciting opening has arisen for a Site Operative to join the team at ReFood's Anaerobic digestion facility in Doncaster. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join an established and growing company that is committed to helping conserve natural resources and protect the environment. This is a permanent role working an average of 42 hours per week (12 hour shifts) 4 on / 4 off shift pattern days and nights. As a Site Operative your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the plant requirements but will include: Assisting the AD Site Supervisor in controlling and coordinating the safe and efficient operation of the ReFood operation in accordance with management instructions, Health & Safety and Legislative requirements. Operating Mobile Plant in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Group Policies and Procedures. Assisting with ensuring that the facility, its plant and equipment are maintained and cleaned as specified. Working in accordance with staff rosters and the provision of cover for planned/unplanned absence. Undertaking any other duties reasonably requested by the ReFood Management Team Requirements Be prepared to handle food waste and associated waste products at all times. Some heavy lifting may be required. Able to undergo training in order to reach a competent standard of understanding and ability to operate the plant using computer control systems. Be able to work on your own or as part of a team with minimal supervision. Have the ability to undertake, process and quality checks and perform basic lab tests.
