Account Manager at Venesky-Brown Recruitment

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a People Partner for a 9 month contract on a salary between £36,932 – £40,123. This role will be hybrid with a minimum of 2 days working from home each week.

Responsibilities:

- Develop a thorough understanding of the strategic and operational aims and objectives of aligned directorates so as to be able to quickly develop and present appropriate people programs, solutions and advice to Directors, Leaders and Managers on all people matters

- Engage with wider People team specialists to ensure their knowledge and expertise is utilised in the development and implementation of specific people activities/interventions

- Lead on the management and resolution of complex casework, assessing risk, devising appropriate case management strategies, coaching Directors, Leaders and Managers and seeking advice as appropriate from the external employment law specialists

- Support the delivery of organisational change projects by coaching Directors, Leaders and Managers in the development of their business cases and providing expert support in the implementation process. This includes liaising with local and, as required, national trade union representatives, advising on consultation processes and internal communications, supporting redeployment processes and handling any related exits

- Use people trends and metrics in decision making and in the development of practical and appropriate people programs, policies and processes to meet strategic and operational needs

- Develop and regularly update people policies and procedures so that they meet strategic and operational objectives, employment legislation and are sector leading in terms of innovation and best practice

- Proactively share knowledge and information with the multi-disciplinary People Team in particular relating to aligned directorate developments, lessons learned, technical expertise and best practice

- Support role design and undertake role evaluation

- Support the wider People team with additional projects and activities as required

- Commit to good health & safety and access practice and ensure familiarity with health & safety and access policies, procedures, and guidelines.

- Significant HR generalist knowledge that is equivalent to CIPD Level 5

- Proven ability to influence at all levels with the confidence to effectively challenge where appropriate

- Ability to think and operate strategically

- Ability to develop a range of options from which to make a decision

- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with proven ability to convey complex messaged clearly and succinctly

- Ability to build highly effective and collaborative working relationships

- ICT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and HR Management Information Systems

- Experience of supporting Directors, Leaders and Managers to achieve their strategic and operational priorities

- Significant experience of successfully resolving complex case management through managing risk and applying effective mitigations

- Applying legislation to casework, policy development/updates and people programs

- Experience of delivering successful organisational change projects

- A demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development

- Counselling, mediation and coaching skills

- Experience of developing and updating HR policies and processes

- Experience of processing, analysing and presenting complex data

- Experience of dealing with trade unions and / or staff representatives
