Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Duck Creek, strong infrastructure engineering, and advanced networking skills. The role includes designing, implementing, automating, and supporting complex development, test, pre-production, and production environments. The Engineer will collaborate closely with the DevOps Lead and the onsite DevOps team to support large-scale environment builds and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design, build, and support of Duck Creek AVS dev/test environments, including IIS and Windows Server 2022 configuration.
* Manage on‑premise Duck Creek Pre‑Prod and Production environments running on x86 infrastructure.
* Configure networking, firewalls, and load balancing (including F5).
* Administer and optimise SQL Server instances required for Duck Creek applications.
* Develop PowerShell‑based automation and provisioning frameworks.
* Drive automation initiatives end‑to‑end with internal DevOps teams and technical stakeholders.
* Troubleshoot complex environment issues and implement long‑term stability improvements.
* Maintain detailed documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and automation code.
* Collaborate with the DevOps Lead to plan and prioritise deployments and environment tasks.
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong hands‑on experience with Duck Creek platforms across dev, test, and production environments.
* Deep infrastructure & networking expertise, including Windows Server 2022 & IIS, firewall configurations, F5 load balancer configuration & troubleshooting, SQL Server setup & tuning, advanced PowerShell scripting for automation and environment provisioning.
* Experience with on‑prem x86 infrastructure and AVS (Azure VMware Solution).
* Proven collaboration within DevOps teams and cross‑functional engineering groups.
* Excellent troubleshooting, RCA, and problem‑solving capabilities.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in insurance or financial services environments.
* Familiarity with CI/CD, orchestration, and automation frameworks.
* Knowledge of monitoring, backups, and security configuration for enterprise applications.
